KafkaCare offers laser tattoo removal for black and dark tattoos in its office on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
HOW LASER TATTOO REMOVAL WORKS
The light beam emitted from the laser targets the pigment in the tattoo. When the pigment in the tattoo absorbs laser light it is fragmented. The body is then able to clear the pigment from the body.
The laser treatment will sting during and after the procedure. Topical numbing medicine or pain medication may be taken to keep you comfortable. The average patient requires 4 to 6 treatments, each spaced about 4 to 8 weeks apart.
Depending on the size of the treatment area, the procedure should take less than 10 minutes.
After the treatment you will have redness and swelling in the treatment area. Dressing changes with TELFA non-stick pads and aquaphor will be required two times per day for approximately a week.
